Car history: |
IT SEEMS NOT FREQUENT ENOUGH THAT WE ARE ABLE TO OFFER SUCH AN ORIGINAL CORVETTE ANYMORE. IF ORIGINALITY IS A CONSIDERATION THIS 4-SPEED NUMBERS MATCHING CALIFORNIA 1972 CORVETTE WITH POWER STEERING AND TILT-TELESCOPIC MUST BE A CONSIDERATION. SHE ENJOYS NEWER PAINT, EXCELLENT ORIGINAL INTERIOR AND OF COURSE COMES STANDARD WITH RALLY WHEELS, THE REMOVABLE REAR WINDOW AND T-TOPS. EXTERIOR : Many consider 1972 to be the end of a generation of Corvettes that saw both front and rear bumpersand this well preserved example possesses NEW Millie Miglia Red paint. The body appears as it left the factory and the front end is gorgeous. If the car looks sharp in the pictures it's because she is. The front end doesn't appear to have ever been off of the car and looks to have never been in an accident. Being a lifelong California car the frame is solid and straight. The weatherstrip looks fine and does not appear to be coming apart anywhere. The tires are newer and they look great on their original rally wheels with trim rings and center caps. The original Astro-Ventilation Glass is in place. Plus as and added bonus the headlight and the wipers work on this one. That's right! One less hassle. INTERIOR : The interior is in great condition and is a jukebox on wheels with her original stereo. In fact when I drive the car around with my fm ipod transmitter, she still blasts the tunes clearly! From the key warning buzzer to the original positive lockout reverse shifter this car has been respectfully and lovingly maintained in comparison to her peers, especially for a four speed car. The interior is showing NO conspicuous blemishes, i.e. rips, tears, holes, cracks save one small spot of wear on the passenger side seat. The carpet is newer and both seats and door panels are either replacements or nice originals. The dash fits up great, wither the gauge cluster has been restored or it almost looks like new. All of the gauges are functional except for the infamous clock, which for sure works at least twice a day. The interior is very nice to sit in and excellently preserved for its age. MECHANICS : The car runs out and drives nicely. Well taken care of, this automobile retains her original drive train. The car shifts through all of the gears nicely. You may also notice the original looking motor compartment. The exhaust has been redone at some point in time and the same looks of the bushings. The brakes work well and appear to have been redone with stainless steel sleeved calipers. If this car had a tune-up and an oil change I would not hesitate to drive her some distance. Overall she remains a very solid driver that runs and shifts great and we believe the mileage to be original. January 12, 2008. |
